Hola! I'm Megan, an Australia designer specialising in textile and fashion. My work celebrates a freedom of spirit and joyful sense of discovery. I draw inspiration from the hand-rendered aesthetics of eras bygone and an enriching appreciation of both world culture and the natural world.
My designs begin with a mix of hand-drawn elements and painterly textures which are then combined on a digital platform where colour, layering and composition are explored. Designing for change and incorporating sustainability into my practice is key.
After completing a Bachelor of Design Hons at UNSW, I began my journey in graphic and textile design, followed by fashion design and creative direction for Rip Curl Girlswear and an assortment of other lovely labels. I have since worked with several international textile studios where my works have been presented and purchased at Premiere Vision New York, Indigo New York, Printsource New York, Surtex New York, The Los Angeles International Textile Show, Premiere Vision Paris, Eindhoven Netherlands, Heimtextil Frankfurt and Indigo Home Brussels.
I currently enjoy creating for eco-minded folk from my home studio along Victoria's Great Ocean Road. Recent collaborations include textile design for ocean protecting label, Boardsox, along with the design of textiles and swim/active-wear for eco-conscious labels, Salty Beasts and Less Mondays More Summer. You can also find me lecturing and tutoring in Design Skills at Deakin University, Waterfront campus, Victoria.
If you are interested in working together please do get in touch.
